Student Business Services (SBS) plays a vital role in supporting the student experience at Texas State University by providing reliable access to account-related services. SBS manages tuition and fee billing, payment processing, refunds, and account holds—ensuring students can stay informed and on track with their financial responsibilities. Additional services include emergency and short-term loan programs, third-party sponsor billing, and departmental income reporting. 

Through coordinated platforms, SBS supports students and authorized users by managing and maintaining access to student account information, including tuition, fees, payments, and refunds. The office ensures that students can easily view and manage their financial obligations through user-friendly platforms and coordinated services.

Working in collaboration with TXST One Stop, SBS contributes to a unified support system that simplifies how students and authorized users engage with their financial information. Through integrated platforms and coordinated services, SBS helps make account management more transparent, timely, and student friendly.

The Bursar’s Area is responsible for billing and receipting student payments for tuition and fees, room and board, and other related semester charges. This office also disburses financial aid checks.  Tuition and fee payments can be made with personal check, cashier's check, money order, or credit card. We accept VISA, Master Card, Discover, American Express, Diners Club and E-Checks.

The Collections Area is responsible for assisting all students with financial holds on their student records.  Collections also administers the Emergency Tuition Loan and Short-Term Loan programs.

A $30 service fee is assessed for any payment transaction returned by the bank unpaid.  A cash only hold is placed on the student account until this fee is paid.
